IISR names new school managing committee

RIYADH — International Indian School Riyadh (IISR) in its special meeting last weekend with the competent authorities announced the names of the members of school managing committee that was constituted recently. For the first time in IISR, a lady has been included in the managing committee.
The members of the committee, headed by Dr. Dilshad Ahamad as their Chairman, were in a formal talk with the authorities, Dr. Dilshad said his main objective will be to focus on discipline of the school, its high academic standards while the top priority would be to get a new premise constructed for the school at the earliest.
He also emphasized that committee will work as one family for the betterment of the Institution. He had completed his full term in the earlier panel and as in charge of academic affairs.
The new managing committee consists Dr. Dilshad Ahamad as Chairman while other members include Sultan Mazharuddin, Amanulla Arshath, Abdul Moin Khan, Dr. Kavita M.S, Abdul Sattar Siddqui and Sahab Hussain Ali.
Dr. Dilshad, has been in National Guards past 5 years and before that worked as research scientist for 20 years in King Saud University. He is involved in many social activities and has always come forward for the welfare of the Indians in Riyadh.
Parents welcomed the newly constituted managing committee and expected that the school will excel under the new committee.
The Mumtaz Group felicitated the members of the new managing committee at Niagara Banquet Hall. The Indian community welcomed the new managing committee and expected the new committee will work towards increasing the capacity of the school to accommodate more students. They urged the committee to speed up the construction of new building so that many parents will get relief.
Many parents in Riyadh are worried due to lack of admissions for their wards in the school due to the acute space. Even the students who transferred from other cities are not getting admission. Many are unable to send their children to private schools as they cannot afford the higher fees and prefer to admit their wards at IISR. But the school authorities turn many of them down.
Dr. Hifzur Rahman Azmi, observer of Indian schools in the Kingdom, congratulate the newly formed managing committee.
