PIA operates a range of advanced aircraft, ranging from the world's preferred Boeing 777 airplane to the super-quiet Airbus A-320. Imtiaz Ahmed Bhutto, country manager of PIA, expressed his gratification on the auspicious occasion of the 77th National Day of Pakistan, and wished to convey his deepest felicitations to all Pakistanis. The flights frequency in 2016 has tremendously increased within two years, when in 2014 the weekly flights numbered 37, while in February 2017, it has been increased to 55 per week, he said. He added, PIA has increased one flight each for Islamabad and Karachi in addition to earlier scheduled flights from February 2017. The new addition of two daytime flights from Jeddah to Islamabad has seen enhancement in the weekly schedule with flights increasing to five for Islamabad and seven for Karachi. The additional flights, PK-741 (Islamabad-Jeddah) and PK-742 (Jeddah-Islamabad) would arrive in Jeddah at 1045 hours and depart at1245 hours on Friday. Meanwhile, the additional flights PK-831 (Karachi-Jeddah) and PK-832 (Jeddah-Karachi) would arrive in Jeddah at 1010 hours and departed at 1210 hours on Saturday. The Country Manager further said that PIA is operating weekly 27 flights from Jeddah, nine from Madinah, 10 from Riyadh and 10 from Dammam to seven different destinations of Pakistan, including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Faisalabad, Multan, Peshawar and Sialkot. He expressed confidence of expanding the PIA network in KSA region, which would provide more convenience and comfort to Pakistani community. He also said the PIA Haj Operation for the year 2016 was highly successful. There was 98% accuracy maintained during that massive operation. This year we will also try to provide best services to our passengers with dedication, integrity and commitments, he said. PIA operates a two-month (pre- and post-) Haj operation each year from Pakistan to Jeddah and Madinah and transports over 100,000 intending pilgrims each year.
