Jeddah Grammar International School (JGIS) annual sports event for the kindergarten and primary students respectively was held recently. The sports event was distributed over two days. The enthusiasm of the teachers and the pleasant weather kept the students spirit high. Students of Grade 5 and 6 started the program with their spectacular performance, showcasing their gymnastic skills and energized exercise drill setting the tone for the day. Once the races began, the air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the young athletes. The students energetically participated in various races like, 50-meter race, frog race, kangaroo race, ball balancing race. Beside these there were class-wise fun games for students like holding a hoop around the waist, finding the ball, and tying the lace. The event concluded with a tele-match race with teams competing against each other. The winners were announced and awarded with certificates and medal at the awards ceremony. The importance of games and sports was stressed as they are a part of students grooming program, which instils confidence and sportsmanship. JGIS gives equal importance to extra-curricular and sports activities along with academics as it believes that these activities boost students' confidence and teach them discipline. Healthy and friendly competitions teach students the skill of teamwork and the ability to face challenges.
