RIYADH — Chief guest Anil Nautiyal, first secretary community welfare at the Indian Embassy, appreciated the Toastmasters club for their excellence in creating leaders by grooming them with leadership skills through public speaking. He also lauded the fact that people of different nationalities are not only part of the club but also helping and guiding each other in personality development. He made these statements while addressing the Annual Speech Contest of Division B district 79 at Hilton Garden Inn, Riyadh while disclosing the fact that he was attending the event of multinationalities for the first time. ‘I've attended many TM events within the Indian community but am elated to attend this event with many nationalities in attendance." Nautiyal especially pinpointed the last segment, Humorous segment, for praise saying the speakers are very talented specially TM Magesh Prabhakar, who spoke superbly on the topic of "Masala Hero". He also presented trophies to all the winners of table topic, international speech and humorous speech. Syed Zia ur Rahman, past governor who came from Dubai to attend this contest, presented a memento to Nautiyal. Division B Director Mohammed Yaseen Ali welcomed the gathering and highlighted the importance of the event. He said this is not just for entertainment and enjoyment but also for learning the importance of public speaking and how it shapes our lives. He highlighted that this event was possible because of the contributions of all Division B members, and expressed his gratitude to the sponsor RIFAI for their support. TM Syed Viquaruddin Hussain was the test speaker for the speech evaluation segment his speech revolved around how imperfect our life is and how imperfect many things around us can be. He shared his struggles in becoming a perfect actor, a perfect football player and also a perfect husband. He also shared his message on how we should not struggle for perfection, rather look for satisfaction as a satisfied life is better than a perfect one. The contest commenced with the table topic speech contest where the contestants had to deliver an impromptu speech on the topic given on the spot the first place of this contest was bagged by TM Sasirinda Waragoda while second and third place winners were TM Magesh Prabhakara and TM Yousef Ba Isa. International speech contest speakers enthralled the audience with their inspiration and thought provoking speeches. TM Basam Al Bahra bagged the first place while TM Yousef Ba Isa and TM Sasirinda Waragoda won the second and third place respectively. Evaluations speech contest by a test speech delivered by TM Syed Viquaruddin Hussain on the topic of "Buffalos" saw TM Yousef Ba Isa winning the first place while TM Magesh Prabhakara and TM Reina Tejano Berina taking second and third place respectively. The humorous speech contest TM Magesh Prabhakara won the first place winner followed by TM Reina Tejano Berina and TM Abdur Rauf Mukhtar as the second and third place winner respectively. TM Mohammed Mubin, chief Judge of this contest, explained the rules and criteria. The contest masters are table topic Moheyaldeen Assaf, international speech Salman Al-Mutairi, speech evaluation Geff Sagala, humourous speech Mohammed Afdhal Saheer. Vote of thanks was proposed by contest chair TM Ahmed Samir.
