Indian Social Forum (ISF), a prominent community organization, which is actively involved in the development of the Indian community in the Kingdom, is holding a two-day career-counseling program for Indian students in Jeddah. As part of its welfare activities, ISF in association with ACCESS India — one of the well-established non-profit charitable organizations in career guidance and student awareness programs, is organizing the unique career guidance program, MICS 2017 (Monumental Inspiration into Civil Services 2017), on Jan. 27-28 in Jeddah at Hadeeqah Jeddah Lil Afrah (Jeddah Garden) Kilo 10, Old Makkah Road, Jeddah. Beyond the traditional career guidance programs that have become proverbially monotonous sessions highlighting engineering and medical professions, this program has a specific objective of focusing the challenging career opportunities offered by the civil services of India. The program will also shed some light on the importance and professional advantage of civil services of India, something more than a white-collar job. In fact, the civil services of the country offer a unique career opportunity combined with constructive challenges and high growth prospects. By getting into the civil services, he/she will not only be associated with the decision-makers and implementer of policies and programs, but also will be a crucial contributor as policy maker to the development of the national as a whole. Consul General Mohammed Noor Rahman Shaikh, IFS, who will inaugurate and motivate the students, and Deputy Consul General & Consul (Haj) Mohammed Shahid Alam, IFS, who will encourage the younger generation by explaining the professional benefits of Civil Service in India, will be the prime speakers. The chief mentor of the program will be Prof. Imtiazuddin Ahmad Siddiqui, University of Delhi, who is also one of the directors of civil service training institute run by an NGO in New Delhi. Being an expert in career guidance, through his inspiring session, Siddiqui will be giving orientation to the students for taking up a profession in civil services of the country.
