Asim hits a career-best knock of 140

Jazira beat Kanoo Travel by 20 runs as Asim hit a career-best knock of 140 runs and a strong Ace Travel cricketers beat the experienced Kanoo Cricket Club by 8 wickets in the second week matches of mini league of JCA Premier Division, which is sponsored by the Kanoo Group of Companies & organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA).
Batting first Jawar Al-Jazira scored a huge total of 286 runs against Kanoo Travel in the allotted 30 overs. Asim made the highest with 140 runs. The other opener Shan Manzoor also played well and contributed 47 valuable runs.
Javed Iqbal made a quickfire 26. Veteran spinner Zahid Khan took 2-35 and fast bowler Majid Bhatti had a figures of 2-52.
Kanoo Travel, in reply, could reach 266-7. Syed Kaleem made 34, Mohammad Riyaz Chukkan topscored with a patient 73. Pervaiz Khan contributed a quick 45 from 29 balls while veteran allrounder Haroon Abdullah Bin Mehfooz cracked 67 off 47 deliveries. Asim and Irfan took 2 wickets each for 36 and 17 runs respectively while Javed Iqbal and Tariq got one wicket each.
In the second match, Kanoo, batting first, scored 213 against the Ace Travels. Rashid Khursheed made 26 and his opening partner Tabriz contributed 24. Kanoo's star batsman Sami Khan made 21, Najamuddin hit 66 from 44 balls and Mohammad chipped in 44. Athar Abdul Quddus claimed 4-22, Wajid Samdani 2-39 while fast bowler Kamran and spinner Faheem Pasha got one wicket each.
In reply, the Ace Travels reached 214-2 in 27.4 overs. The consistent opening batsman Wajid Samdani hit a magnificent knock of 87 off 54 balls and hard-hittingAyaz contributed 89 off 56 balls. Najamuddin took 1-16 and Moid 1-44.
