[gallery size="medium" td_select_gallery_slide="slide" td_gallery_title_input="Green House overall champion " ids="111829,111828,111827"] JEDDAH — Green House bagged the overall championship in the VI-VIII boys section of the Annual Athletic Meet of the International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ) at the school premises here recently. The outstanding students who emerged individual champions in their respective sections are: Iyad and Umar Mohammed (Grade VI), Basil and Fahad Ahmed (Grade VII) and Abdul Khalid (Grade VIII). The opening ceremony was graced by chief guest Mohammed Iqbal, chairman of the school managing committee, other members of the managing committee, Principal Syed Masood Ahmed, vice principal of boy's section, heads of various blocks and other school officials. The program commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an by Umer, followed by its translation by Abdulla. Head Prefect Ahmed Qadri presented a bouquet to the chief guest and then welcomed the gathering. The orderly march-past by all the four houses holding colorful flags stole the show. The oath of sportsmanship was administered by Sports Secretary Daniel Thomas. The chief guest then declared the meet open by releasing balloons. He handed over the meet's torch to Daniel Thomas, who represented the school in badminton in the Cluster Meet, and the torch relay team of Emaz, Alif, Raees, Jasir, Khafid and Fouzan (all represented the school in Cluster Meet). The students then proved their prowess displaying their skills in skating, martial arts and boxing. Events like football, basketball, cricket, table tennis and badminton were conducted before. The individual events were so thrilling. The prizes were distributed by chief guest and other dignitaries. After the students' events, the staff members also participated in some events scheduled for them. Ehab Azeez Zaidi of 8B2 proposed a vote of thanks.
