Yellow Houses emerge champions at IISJ sports meet

Yellow Houses emerged champions in the annual sports meet of the International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ), conducted separately for boys and girls at their respective premises here recently.
Surprisingly, Yellow House athletes dominated in the boys and girls sections. Red House boys gave a tough challenge to the champion before settling for second position. Blue House took the third position and Green fourth.
After their recent success at the 25th Cluster Meet, IISJ girls put up yet another powerful sporting display during the meet. Blue House finished second to champion Yellow, Red third and Green fourth.
After recitation from Holy Qura'an by Huda Saleem, school Head Girl Lamiya Basheer made the welcome address. Sports events kicked off after Principal Syed Masood Ahmed lit the torch and handed it over to Sports Secretary Rasha Basheer.
Of all the events basketball stole the show as the IISJ girls are the reigning national champions of the 25th Cluster Meet.
School Managing Committee Chairman Raziq Abdul Vahid was the chief guest at the boys' meet.
After Ahmed Abdul Rahman recited verses from Holy Qura'an, Head Boy Mohit Masood welcomed the guests, officials and athletes. The oath of sportsmanship was administered by Sports Secretary Abdul Haseeb after a colorful march-past.
The athletics events were conducted in two categories as Under 16 and Under 19. The U-19 individual championship was won by Mohammed Yahiya Sadiq of Green House who collected 21 points, while with 15 points Ashwaq Hussain of Blue House emerged champion in U-16.
