IISD girls impress all with SPECTRA 2016

DAMMAM — SPECTRA 2016, an educational exhibition with the theme IMAGINE, IGNITE & INSPIRE, was hosted by the Girls Secondary Section of International Indian School, Dammam, recently.
This was yet another academic marvel amazingly displayed by the students in the form of an exhibition, which was inaugurated by Mohammed Abdul Waris, chairman of the school managing committee.
In his speech the chairman praised the students for their creative, innovative and marvelous ideas. Present on the occasion were the members of the managing committee, Principal Dr. E.K. Mohammed Shaffee, vice principals, heads of the various sections, staff and students.
In his welcome address the school principal said "such exhibitions should be encouraged as students get an opportunity to present their ideas that grow in their minds."
Rashed Omer, academic convener, IIS Dammam, in his felicitation speech appreciated the students, teachers and parents for their immense effort and support in putting up the show.
Under the theme IMAGINE, IGNITE & INSPIRE, the students showcased their talents and intense creativity in a variety of subjects.
More than 1,100 girls displayed their fascinating projects and working models of Drone with Camera, Chameleon Chemical Reactions, Crazy Foam, Thermal Power Plant, Conversion of Plastic to Oil, etc. Some other outstanding models such as World of Living-Pollution Free Life and Wonders of Nature were also put up winning praise from visitors. Confundo — A Maze of Illusions was one of the presentations done by the students.
The exhibition also showcased projects designed to introduce the talent of the students from the Commerce, Psychology, Home Science, Geography, Science, Mathematics and the English departments.
Projects on regional languages like Malayalam, Urdu and Tamil were also a source of attraction. One of the most wondrous sight was to see "Incredible India", which was an inimitable creation of the Girls secondary section.
An art gallery was among the fascinating exhibits put up by the students of the Humanities stream.
The exhibition was later opened to parents and fellow students. They admired the projects and the creative skills displayed by their children. They felt that IIS Dammam offered their children a great platform to exhibit their talents. The whole event left wonderful and memorable moments in the mind of the visitors.
