Seven players have been selected from the Jeddah trials to take part in the final selection trials to pick the Indian national team for the 2017 FIFA Under-17 World Football Championship to be in India. The selected 7 players are: Mashood Ali (goalkeeper), Hashid A. Rahman (defender/midfielder), Fawad Ahmed (defender), Sameer Roshan (midfielder), Tanveer Tajmal (midfielder/defender), Ahmed Bamarouf (forward) and Mohammed Aqiyan (forward). The venue and the dates of the final trials, which will be held in India in August, will be intimated later. The Jeddah leg of the trials was organized by United Tellicherry Sports Club (UTSC), in association with Geepas as part of the overseas scouting program of All India Football Federation (AIFF) through its AIFF Middle East coordinator Shanavas. The selection panel included renowned soccer player and coach, PR Saleem, Indian School Physical Education Director Rasheed, Saheer, K.O. Paulson and EFS Basheer. SIFF President Hifsu Rahman, JSC Chairman Basheer TP, TCF President Faseesh graced the event along with many other prominent personalities from the Jeddah sports fraternity. UTSC KSA Secretary Ashfaq Melakendy introduced the officials and attendees and gave a brief account of UTSC's current activities. While extending the vote of thanks, UTSC President Hisham Mahe promised that the club will put all efforts in inculcating sports related skills among the expatriate community in Saudi Arabia.
