Okaz/Saudi Gazette RIYADH — The Ministry of Labor and Social Development plans to have women exclusive mobile shops starting from January. The ministry's official spokesman Khalid Abalkhail said feminization of some mobile shops has already begun alongside the ministry's Saudization campaign. "The ministry will provide an opportunity to investors to open mobile shops for women only in shopping centers or independently. These shops will be operated by women and will entertain women customers. There are qualified women to work in mobile repair shops as the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation has a number of training programs for Saudis as part of Saudizing the telecommunication sector," said Abalkhail. He added there are already a number of mobile shops for women only. "Mobile shops for women is an attractive business that is catching the attention of a lot of investors. The number of mobile shops for women will increase as time goes by as the ministry offers financial and legislative support for the enterprise," said Abalkhail. He added there are 35,000 trained Saudis to work in the telecommunication sector. "Many of the trainees are already employed and a great number of them is currently in the process of employment. The Human Resources Development Fund offers financial support to employees and entrepreneurs in the telecommunication sector," said Abalkhail. He added the Saudi Credit and Savings Bank offers loans up to SR200,000 for businesses in the telecommunication sector.
