Saudi Gazette DAMMAM — The International Indian School, Dammam, (IISD) continued with its legacy of being the best foreign educational institution not only in the Kingdom but in the entire GCC countries as it once again achieved 100 percent result in the recently announced class XIIth examination results conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education. The excellence of the institution does not lie merely in achieving 100 percent results year after year but in the overall growth of students and their excellence in all spheres of education and related activities. Be it science exhibition or debate, cluster meet or general knowledge, the students of IISD have always etched their names on trophies and medals as top winners. Principal and head of the institution has struck a balance between education and extra-curricular activities. "We need to develop a balanced personality of our students who when enter in practical life should be prepared enough to tackle all problems and situations," said Dr. E.K. Mohammed Shaffe. He said the school teachers' efforts and hard labor of students have yielded extremely positive results and today the alumni is holding top positions in India and abroad and some of them have reached MIT, Cambridge and Oxford. In comparison to other educational institutions IISD has not just achieved 100 percent success but also a very high percentage of students achieved more than 90 percent marks and many of them scored 100 percent marks in several subjects. The most interesting aspect this year was that there were more girl students than boys. Out of a total 671students who appeared in the examination, there were 285 boys and 386 girls. Samarth Shah secured 97 percent in science stream and stood first in the school as well as in the Kingdom. Shalu Francis scored 96.6 percent and stood second in the science stream in the school, while Clarin Preetika D'Souza stood third with 96.4 percent. Yusra Khan scored 96.6 percent and won the top position in the commerce, while Saima Abdus Samad with 95.8 percent and Pavithra Preetha Jayakuma with 95.6 percent stood second and third respectively. In humanities stream Nehwath Fathima stood first with 93.6 percent, while Rafath Jahan Sheikh and Shanima Shams wit 92 percent stood second and Nicole James with 91.4 percent came third. IISD result is excellent not only in numbers but in the quality also. There were 59 students who secured 90 percent and above, 189 of them secured 80 – 89 percent and another 246 scored 70 – 79 percent, 144 of them scored 60 – 69 percent and 26 students scored 50 – 59 percent, only one student scored less than 50 percent. Out of 671 students appeared for the exam, 494 of them secured distinction and above score. A comparative analyses between four major Indian schools in the Kingdom including Dammam, Riyadh, Jeddah and Jubail showed that while 671 studentds appeared all 671 passed with five compartments, while in Riyadh out of 645 students who appeared 622 passed, 14 failed and 55 were in compartments. Jeddah was comparatively better than Riyadh as a total of 545 students appeared 544 passed only one failed and 11 were in compartment. In Jubail out of 163 students appeared 161 passed 2 failed and 11 were in compartment. In International Indian School Jubail Prasad Mukund topped in his chool with 95.6 percent while Surayya Deshmukh with 95.2 percent and Mohammed Aazim Khan with 94.8 percent stood second and third respectively. The Indian community in Dammam congratulated the principal and staff of the school on an excellent achievement. The school managing committee chairman, Abdul Waris, and members of the managing committee and the principal & HOI, congratulated all toppers and their parents and all the successful students for achieving excellent results in class XII CBSE examinations. They also congratulated the teaching faculty, vice principals and all other staff members and officials of the School for their sincere and committed efforts.
