KAIA to clash with Lahore Badshah

JEDDAH — KAIA and Lahore Badshah beat Kashmir XI by 26 runs and MCH by 4 wickets respectively, and will clash in the final of the Jotun Cup, which is sponsored by Jotun Paints Saudi Arabia and organized by JCA.
In the first semifinal, Abdul Samad hit a superb 67, which enabled KAIA to post 213 for 9. Then its bowlers restricted Kashmir XI to 187 for 4 despite a valiant knock of 88 in 40 balls by Awais.
In the other semifinal, Lahore Badshah comfortably chased down the target of 213 for the loss of 6 wickets with an over to spare, thanks to a superb unbeaten knock of 77 in 39 balls by Awais and a quick-fire unbeaten 26 off 8 balls (2 sixes and 3 fours) by Arshad which over-shadowed the fine knock by Babar (72) and Rana Shahzad (71) which helped MCH post 212 for 6 in 20 overs.
Results:
KAIA beat Kashmir XI by 26 runs. KAIA 213-9 in 20 overs (Abdul Samad 67, Majid 35, Shad Khan 20, Ahsan 20; Farhan 2-28, Anas 2-45).
Kashmir XI 187-4 in 20 overs (Awais 88 in 40 balls (3 sixes, 7 fours), Gowhar 34, Sami 35).
Lahore Badshah downed MCH Green by 4 wickets. MCH Green 212-6 in 20 overs (Babar 72 — 46 balls, 3 sixes, 5 fours, Rana Shahzad 71 — 36 balls, 5 sixes, 5 fours; Khalid 3-39).
Lahore Badshah 214-6 in 19 overs (Awais 77 not out — 39 balls, 3 sixes, 7 fours, Waqas 35, Malik 23, Arshad 26 not out — 8 balls, 2 sixes, 3 fours.
In the quarterfinals, KAIA outclassed UT Lines by 7 wickets with Javed scoring a brilliant unbeaten 75, MCH Green downed King Stars by 21 runs, thanks to a hurricane knock of 90 in 36 balls by Babar, Kashmir XI prevailed over Kashmir Stags by 42 runs with Usman blasting 54 runs and Lahore Badshah crushed Jamoom Tigers by 141 runs with belligerent knocks by Usman 78 (33 balls) and Shahzad 77 — 23 balls, both hoisting 6 sixes and 6 fours each.
Results:
KAIA outclassed UT Lines by 7 wickets. UT Lines 165 runs all out in 20 overs (Noor 42, Ali 32, Sajid 28; Abdul Samad 4 for 24, Majid 2 for 29, Amin 2 for 26). KAIA 166 for 3 in 13.3 overs (Javed 75 not out (6 sixes, 7 fours), Amin 37 (2 sixes, 2 fours).
MCH Green downed King Stars by 21 runs. MCH Green 257 for 6 in 20 overs (Babar 90 (36 balls, 6 sixes, 10 fours), Munawar 57 not out, Azhar 31, Rahil 32; Yasir 2 for 57). King Star 236 for 8 in 20 overs (Waqas 59 — 23 balls, 8 fours, 3 sixes, Yasir 39, Umair 32, Adnan 34; Rahil took 2 for 34).
Kashmir XI beat Kashmir Stags by 42 runs. Kashmir XI 215 for 5 in 20 overs (Usman 54, Aamir 23, Shabir 32 not out, Zahid 43; Majid 3 for 42). Kashmir Stags 173 all out (Danish 33, Majid 29, Rizwan 21, Mujahid 28; Hamid 2 for 19, Anas 2 for 13, Aamir 2 for 22).
Lahore Badshah crushed Jamoom Tigers by 141 runs. Lahore Badshah 272 for 5 in 20 overs (Usman 78 — 33 balls, 6 sixes, 6 fours, Saghir 31, Shahzad 77 — 23 balls, 6 sixes, 6 fours, Malik Aijaz 31; Usman 3 for 38). Jamoom Tigers 131 all out (Umer 23, Usman Butt 33, Arshad 25; Malik Aijaz 3 for 13, Awais 2 for 25, Tanveer 2 for 21, Afzal 2 for 41).
