Police arrested a patient who escaped from a mental hospital and was seen frequenting a mosque in the middle of the night. Najran Police spokesman Maj. Gen. Abdullah Al-Ashawi said the police received several reports from citizens that a man would drive by a mosque at late hours in the night. He would panic and drive away whenever he saw anyone nearby. The man crashed into a number of cars in Aba Al-Saud District as he was trying to escape. After police arrived and cornered his car, the man fled on foot to a nearby farm, but officers managed to arrest and detain him for questioning. The police found out that the man was a former member of the military who was undergoing mental treatment in Al-Amal Hospital. While trying to escape, the man physically assaulted several citizens who tried to help the police. The case was forwarded to the pertinent authority. Three thieves rob Bangladeshi expat BAHA — Police arrested three thieves accused of robbing a Bangladeshi man. Baha Police assistant spokesman Lt. Gen. Bandar Al-Ghamdi said they received reports from a Bangladeshi man claiming that he was robbed by three thieves who stole his belongings after stabbing him. The victim claimed he was working at a café when the three showed up and offered to drive him home to Al-Hawiyah District after his shift. Before the victim was able to get out of the car, the thieves stabbed him and stole his wallet and cellphone. The police arrested one of the thieves who then confessed to the crime and led the officers to the other two. Man dies after falling in swamp NAJRAN — A man drowned to death in a swamp in Al-Jazm Park on Tuesday. Najran Civil Defense spokesman Lt. Gen. Ali Al-Shihrani said the Civil Defense received reports on Tuesday afternoon of a man in his 30s who had fallen into a swamp in Al-Jazm Park. The Civil Defense rushed into the location and hauled the man out of the swamp. The man was taken to a local hospital but died before reaching it. Body found hanging in tree NAJRAN — The Civil Defense found a body hanging from a tree in Najran Valley. Najran Civil Defense Director Lt. Gen. Ali Al-Amry said they received reports from a citizen who found the body. After removing the body, the Civil Defense is currently examining it and suspect that it could be the body of Capt. Ali Al-Shahrani who went missing 14 days ago when his vehicle was dragged away by the recent floods. The captain had a partner who managed to survive but the captain's body was missing. The search for the captain was still ongoing while the results of the examination of the body was awaited.
