Four major road accidents took place in as many hours in Al-Hujrah governorate in Baha province on Friday, killing one person and injuring 11 others, some of them seriously. Police said the accidents were caused by drivers who failed to follow safety instructions. — Okaz photo Decomposed body found in Wadi Bisha ABHA — The Civil Defense discovered a decomposed body in Wadi Bisha. Asir Civil Defense spokesman Col. Mohammad Al-Asimi said the Civil Defense received a report from a citizen on a decomposed body he had found in the wadi. A rescue team was dispatched to the location and after a brief search, the body was found in a valley close to Bisha city. The team brought the body back to the Civil Defense center in Bisha for further investigations. Gang of expat burglars arrested JEDDAH — A gang of Pakistani expatriates was arrested for their alleged role in multiple burglaries of warehouses containing electronic goods. Makkah Police spokesman Col. Ati Al-Qurashi said police received several reports of a gang of Asian men targeting warehouses containing electronic goods. The men would approach warehouse security guards and ask to use the restroom or have a glass of water. They would then sneak up on the guards and assault them. Then, they would break into the warehouse and steal electronics and any other valuable items stored inside. Police circulated a description of the suspects and received a tip that one of the thieves was also a taxi driver. Police tracked down the suspect and arrested him. They found a cellphone belonging to one of the guards in his possession along with SR10,000 and a few other stolen items. Man arrested over shooting incident MAKKAH — Police arrested a man who shot another man. Makkah Police spokesman Col. Ati Al-Qurashi said police received a report that a citizen had been shot twice. The victim was taken to the King Abdulaziz Hospital in Al-Zahir District and police launched an investigation into the shooting. The shooter was identified as a Saudi man in his 40s. The shooting occurred after a fight had broken out between the two men. Police arrested the shooter and are investigating the incident. Criminals target elderly in SR158,000 ATM fraud SAMTAH, JAZAN — Police are searching for a gang of criminals who preyed on the elderly and stole over SR158,000 in what is being described as an elaborate ATM scam. Samtah Police received complaints from several elderly men saying they were tricked while withdrawing money from an ATM machine. One of the callers reported he was withdrawing money from the ATM when a man approached him and stood beside him. After withdrawing the money, the elderly man went home to find he had the wrong debit card. A total of SR94,000 had been withdrawn from his account. Police said another caller reported a similar incident in the same area. The caller said a total of SR64,000 had been withdrawn from his account without his knowledge.
