The International Indian School in Riyadh (IISR) organized a Model United Nations (MUN) conference on its campus recently. The group of 12th grade students participating in the conference captivated the audience with their knowledge and understanding of world politics. Some of the school's best speakers, writers and debaters represented nations, such as the USA, Japan, New Zealand, India, France, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Sweden, Russia and Germany. Various issues like those surrounding the Iraq war, new media, World War II and nuclear weapons were raised and discussed during the conference, a statement said Tuesday. Students representing various countries participated in a passionate debate, and the ideas put forward by the “delegates” impressed school authorities. IISR Principal Manzar Jamal expressed his joy at having attended this conference. Vice Principal Meera Rahman was the moderator of the session. Principal In-charge Vasu Anirudhan and Teacher In-charge of XI-XII section Abdul Rasheed were among those present.
