The results of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Grade 10 exams showed no failures among the 2,183 students who took the exam in March 2008. However, 51 students who failed in one subject could clear the paper in the supplementary examination and would be allowed to progress to higher level. There are roughly 17 international Indian schools in the Kingdom affiliated to the CBSE. Sajin Sunny Mathew, a student at the International Indian Public School, Riyadh (IIPSR) ranked highest in the Kingdom with 96.2 percent marks. Nitin Vinod, a student at the International Indian School Riyadh (IISR), ranked second with 95.8 percent while Mirdula Mary Thomas at the IISR ranked 95 percent in third position. Tafazzul Husain, IIPS Principal and Naushad Ali of International Indian School in Jubail (IISJub) attributed the 100 percent pass to the efforts of school staff, parents, students and the managing committee members of the respective schools. IISD (Dammam) out of the total number of 607 students and six subjects, the school acquired an overall pass percentage of 99 percent while its counterparts in Jeddah (573 students and 16 subjects) secured 97.2 percentage and Riyadh (589 students with 28 subjects) got 97 percent. Muhammad Shafee IISR principal said the CBSE results for Grade 10 examinations were extraordinary this year because no failures were reported from the Kingdom. Syed Masood Ahmed, Principal of International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ), and Manzar Jamal Siddiqui of IISR said the Grade 10 results were better than the previous year both qualitatively and because of the fewer subjects with no failures. Other various school-wise toppers in the Kingdom included from IISR – Rakesh Retnakaran and Shelden Selas Rodrigues both scored 94.2 percent stood second while Sithara Aysha Kannambath got third position with 89.2 percent, from IISJub-Shailaja Railwani (94.2 percent), Sufyan Hakeem (92.6 percent) and Sony Susan Abraham (91.4 percent), from IISD-Pournami Balasundran (94.6 percent), Renji Krishnan (94.4 percent), Sherin Alisa (93.8 percent), from IISJ – Nitin Vinod (95.8 percent), Ahmed Ali Zahir Zaidi (94.4 percent), Labeeb (93.6 percent), from IISR – Mirdula Mary Thomas 95 percent), Meryl Saji Kottarathi (94.6 percent), Ronak Hameed (94 percent), MEIS- Hassanuddin (91.6 percent), from Yasmeen International School - Shelfia Sajan (92.2 percent) and Al-Alia International School – Najia Saleem (89.9 percent). __
