The elected members for the XVIII student council of Al Yasmin International school were officially sworn in by the school Principal K. Rahmathullah in a function felicitated by Ankur Vohra, senior manager of International Outreach at Ashoka University, Haryana in India, and by Mrs. Asma Shah, and Mrs. Meera Rahman, both vice principals of International Indian School, Riyadh, in its boys and girls sections on the school campus. The events, conducted separately one after the other for both the sections, began in the morning on a colorful note when the guests were led to the venue with the accompaniment of the school band troupe along with the principal, vice principals and headmistresses of the school. The function also witnessed the inauguration of the XVIII school sports opening ceremony, a prestigious event of the school. Both the events highlight the motto that, "All The Flowers of Tomorrow are in the Seeds of Today". The harmonious march past by selected students to the accompaniment of band beats was followed by the formal oath taking ceremony, by the members elected in a tough ballot fight, administered first by the school principal for the school head boy and head girl and then by the school head boy and head girl for the other leaders at different venues. The guests, in their felicitation speeches reminded the students of how fortunate they were in the form of many extra-curricular activities compared to their childhood days. Principal Rahmathullah stressed on the responsibility and accountability of the student council. The elected members of the student council are: Boys Section: Head Boy Nihal Naeem of grade XII, the Vice Head Boy Vinamra Chauhan of grade XI, and the Sports Captain Adil Noushad of grade X; Girls Section: Head Girl Ms. Nagma Khan of grade XII, Vice Head Girl Ms. Gowri Anil of grade X and the Sports Captain Ms. Merin Sara Baiju of grade X. In addition to the elected members, vice sports captains, student editors, house captains, vice house captains and prefects also assumed office. Before the vote of thanks by the sports captain, both boys and girls sections observed two minutes silence to pay homage to the deceased people in the Paravoor Temple Fire Tragedy in Kerala.
