The International Indian School, Dammam, held its Graduation ceremony for boys and girls of Senior Section (Class 12th) at the school campus. At the graduation ceremony for girls held on Feb.11, Ashok Kumar Nigam, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative for Saudi Arabia Country Office, Riyadh, was the chief guest, while in the Boys Section Professor Adel Shaheen Al-Dosarry, Dean College of Environmental Design at the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, was the chief guest on Feb. 13. K Mohammed Shaffe, vice principals and other staff members welcomed the guests. The parents of young graduates were also invited to the ceremony. Principal and HOI, Dr. E.K. Mohammed in his welcome address asked the young graduates to be confident and optimistic in life. The Chairman of the Managing committee Dr. Abdussalam Kanniyan in his felicitation address encouraged students with anecdotes from his academic life. He inspired and motivated them to dream big and strive hard for the same. "Do not be afraid of failure – learning from failure is what leads to success," was the message from the Chief Guest Ashok Kumar in his speech at the girls' section. He gave a strong message of competing with oneself. The chief guest also spoke about the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) of UN and urged students to learn about them. He further, in his message, requested the young graduates to follow the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi in their lives. The Chief Guest in Boys Section Professor Adel Shaheen Al-Dosarry, in his address, expressed his tremendous love and affection toward India. Professor Adel also mentioned about the versatile and colorful diverse culture of India. He spoke about his various visits to India and the wisdom of Indians. He advised students not to forget their duty towards their own community after becoming successful in life. A Power Point presentation was also given during the program in both sections in which the students' life was depicted in IIS Dammam. From small to big, all the events were highlighted in the form of clippings in the presentation, which helped to arouse emotions and nostalgic feelings. The main attraction of the program was the young and graceful graduates of IISD who looked impressive in their gowns and caps and their dashing entry from both sides of the auditorium. The graduates were presented with a beautiful memento and a certificate by the Chief Guests and the Chairman of the Managing Committee. School Captain (Girls) Saima Abdussamad and School Captain (Boys) Uzair Khan delivered their speeches in which they expressed their gratitude toward the teachers and the school for continuous motivation and support. Ms. Tamkeen Majida, head mistress, GSS proposed the vote of thanks in the Girls Section while in Boys Section Dr. Mohammed Irfan Waheed, head master, BSS, gave the vote of thanks. Ms. Cynthia Singh & Ms. Jaya Prasad Iype in the girls' section and Ms. Naseem Maliki & Ms. Savita George in the boys' section respectively presented the program.
