ABHA - A plane of Saudi Arabian Airlines (SV 1794), bound for Dammam, made an emergency landing on Sunday early morning in Abha airport, following the emission of light fumes from the food preparation area of the aircraft, the Saudi Press Agency reported. Abha Airport Administration said that the control tower received a distress call at 3:05 a.m. asking for emergency landing in the airport. Upon landing, the fire and rescue unit at the airport started the evacuation process and controlled the source of the smoke emissions without any damage to the lives or properties. The plane was on its way from King Abdullah Airport in Jazan to King Fahd International Airport in Dammam. Most of the passengers in the flight left Abha for Dammam on board another flight (SV 1682) at around 6.20 a.m.
