Hijjah 05, 1431, Nov 11, 2010, SPA -- General Administration of Civil Aviation said on Wednesday that the Kuwait Airways plane bound for Dhaka night returned to Kuwait International Airport after the appearance of smoke in the cabin of the aircraft because of technical failure after takeoff. KUNA said after the plane landed, the pilot stopped the aircraft at one of the sub-runways at Kuwait International Airport and evacuated the passengers from the emergency exits. Only three passengers and one crew suffered minor injuries during the evacuation of the aircraft, Al-Farah added. The relevant bodies in Kuwait International Airport had dealt with the incident according to the procedures for such cases. Six flights arriving to Kuwait were diverted to nearby airports during the evacuation of the plane until it was sure the runway was free of any obstacles as a precautionary measure, he said. The passengers were transferred to the airport building. Air traffic now returned to normal at Kuwait International Airport.
