Published in The Saudi Gazette on 25 - 03 - 2016

Tawuniya, the pioneering insurance company in Saudi Arabia, has set out its vision for providing "smart insurance" for the first time in Saudi Arabia, as one of the progressive steps in transforming the provision of insurance services and its various operations through Electronic means and using the latest technologies.
This concept is in line with the company's continuous efforts to meet its customers' insurance needs in a comprehensive digital platform, which saves consumer time and effort and enables customers to benefit from these services anywhere, at any time.
The company is developing several initiatives for implementing the concept of smart insurance through a wide variety of electronic applications and mechanisms, allowing for greater availability of digital services. This represents a significant leap and a fundamental transformation in methods for managing insurance services over the coming years.
The concept embodies Tawuniya's extensive expertise in developing specialized insurance information systems for the industry, which started since 1993 when the company established the first dedicated insurance data system. In support of this concept, Tawuniya has launched its new interactive digital platform in both English and Arabic. This follows an extensive process of service, content, and design development which is available to customers through the website www.tawuniya.com.sa
The launch of the new platform follows the directive of providing insurance services through a single platform along with high information security standards, as it offers Tawuniya's insurance packages and services interactively and smoothly, which helps customers in registering, managing their accounts and updating insurance documents as quickly as possible, in accordance with the website launch slogan "Tawuniya: In your hands".
This new platform features Tawuniya's electronic store as the first of its kind in Saudi Arabia. This store allows customers to purchase insurance, including the "Al Shamel" comprehensive motor insurance package, which is entirely processed electronically for the first time. This process is achieved through quick steps, allowing customers to obtain their product in just a few minutes.
Customers can also make comparisons with other products from the company, in order to choose the most suitable package, as well purchase other policies such as "Sanad", "Sanad-Plus" and international travel insurance.
This platform excels at providing various services including getting quotes for insurance policies, following claims and their processes, as well as enabling customers to manage their portfolio with complete control. They can update their information, request claims for medical fees, find out information about sales offices, and get updated lists of medical service providers, including hospitals and accredited clinics. This new platform also provides access to value-added services such as "Dawaee" for claiming back medical expenses for chronic diseases through a series of simple steps easily completed by beneficiaries through the site.
Customers, shareholders and journalists can find information about the company on this online site, including information about available products and services. A further step supporting the concept of "smart insurance", the company is currently developing a new Tawuniya smart phone application.
Tawuniya believes in looking to the future and developing the necessary solution and insurance packages in response to its customers' aspirations, and the smart insurance concept would meet the requirements of a new tech savvy generation of Saudi citizens.
