JEDDAH — Pakistan Welfare Society's ladies' wing (PWS-L) Jeddah chapter arranged its 7th annual women health seminar at the auditorium of Pakistan International School Jeddah (PISJ) Aziziyah on Saturday. Afshan Khokher, wife of Consul General Pakistan Aftab Ahmed Khokher, graced the occasion as chief guest. She praised and appreciated the PWS's (ladies wing) social, cultural and welfare activities and assured her full support. She also congratulated PWS ladies members for holding the seminar. "Women should be taught the value of cleanliness and should take anti-epidemic measure so that she may be free from diseases," said Afshan. Fouzia Khan, in-charge ladies wing, conducted the function and briefed the guest on PWS's welfare and social activities , including fortnightly free medical camp at the Pakistan Consulate, and at Pakistan Kidney Center (PDC) in Abbottbad, Pakistan to provide free treatment to kidney failure patients. Khan thanked the chief guest for her kind presence and encouragement. Panel of lady doctors from various specialties delivered lectures on common health diseases in women followed by question and answer session. There was also a free facility to check blood pressures, blood sugar and weight for participants. Medical advices were given to those who were overweight, had high blood pressure and high blood sugar. Certificates of appreciation were distributed to ladies doctors and volunteer of PWS's ladies wing.
