Okaz/Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — The Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) with the cooperation of the Council of Saudi Chambers has reserved 17 fields of work in the private sector for women, according to a source. The job positions are: Booking clerk, reservationist, tourist program designer, accountant assistant, treasurer, executive secretary, sales representative, receptionist, retail saleswoman, production worker, customer service employee, cashier, bookkeeper, data input employee, photographer, safety and security worker, hotel human resources employee, said the source. TVTC has designed a program with the Council called "The National System for Cooperative Training for Women" to offer training for these fields of work. In six of the mentioned positions, TVTC required the applicants to have a high school diploma. In nine of the mentioned positions, TVTC required the applicants to have a middle school certificate. The source also said that all training programs are divided into two parts: Theory and practice. The training spans from four to 12 months depending on the training program. Employment is guaranteed after the completion of training. All participants are fully aware of work environment they will enter in terms of working hours, location of workplace, vision and mission of workplace and mixed or segregated working environment, said the source. On Thursday, the Ministry of Labor announced that it will enroll young Saudis in four vocational and technological programs in the telecommunications sector. The ministry has taken the decision in view of the recent announcement to Saudize the telecommunications sector in partnership and in cooperation with the ministries of commerce and industry, municipal and rural affairs and communications and information technology. The training program will be carried out through the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) in the fields of client service, sales management, basic mobile maintenance and advanced mobile maintenance. Through this, the ministry hopes to increase the Saudization percentage in this vital sector.
