Tributes offered for late Maulana Qureshi

JEDDAH — Bazm-e-Ehbab-e-Millat Jeddah organized a ceremony in memory of late president Tameer-e-Millat Maulana Abdul Raheem Qureshi in Jeddah recently.
Prominent community members gathered and paid rich tribute to Maulana Abdul Raheem Qureshi who was assistant general of All India Muslim personal law board, president Muslim Muttahida Muhaz, president United Action Committee and president of Iqbal Committee Hyderabad.
The program commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an by Qari Farid Ali followed by a Naat of Syed Khalid Hussain. Aminuddin Ansari presented Allama Fazil's poem Bekasi Qabar.
Convener of the program, Mohd Fahim briefed about late Qureshi's journey from establishment of Tameer-e-Millat till his death. He highlighted how he gathered some brilliant and wonderful youth and founded Bazm-e-Ehbab in 1951 and later renamed it Majlis-e-Tameer-e-Millat in 1954.
Siraj Wahab said in his speech "Qureshi taught a lesson to all Indian Muslims that conversation between two groups must be based on strong measure."
"This is the responsibility of our youth to forward his teachings through today's electronic and social media," he added.
President twin cities Syed Khaja Viqaruddin said, "The late Qureshi worked for the betterment of humanity, he always stressed on serving people with the depth of one's heart."
Shamim Kausar, trustee Khak-e-Taiba Trust, said, "He was a very pleasing personality and always greatful to Almighty."
Aijaz Ahmed Khan, president India forum, said, "Late Qureshi was a great, humble, soft spoken and intelligent personality. He always stressed on youth to come forward in social works."
The program addressed by Mohd Rasheeduddin member Tameer-e-Millat, Syed Jamal Qadri president Urdu Academy, Yousufuddin Amjad spokeperson Bazm-e-Ittehad Jeddah, Ahmed Abdul Hakeem, president Khake-Taiba Trust and Maluana Mustafa Sharif director Idarat-muariff.
Qadeer Qureshi, Ahsanullah Khan, Syed Mahmood Hashmi, Abdulrehman Baig, Saleem Qadri and Mohd Masood Ali were among the attendees.
