Malysian duo Jagdish Singh and Vountus Indra Mawan beat Mohammed Fariqzuan and Mohammed Hafifi to clinch the Super Premier crown at the Mega Doubles Badminton Tournament organized by Noble Badminton Club here recently. The two-day event, approved by the Saudi Badminton Committee, witnessed 330 games at NBC indoor badminton facility behind Novotel Khalidia Dammam. More than 490 players from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh took part in the tournament. Dr. Siddeek Ahmed, director of Eram Group, inaugurated the event. Dr. Ahmed and Pramod Bhuinyan, Air India manager, released a tournament souvenir. The categories were Men's Doubles, Junior & Sub-junior Doubles and Singles for Saudi Boys aged 12 to 14 years. There were 10 different levels in each category based on the level of the players. Champions and runners-up in each level were awarded trophies. The main sponsor of this tournament was Al-Majdhouie Automotive. Shaikh Enayat, general manager of Al-Majdhouie Automotive, presented trophies to the winners.
