DHAHRAN: The 2nd Noble Mega Doubles Badminton Tournament was conducted at the Dhahran Aramco indoor courts here recently. Badminton clubs from Jubail, Riyadh, Jeddah and Bahrain participated in this two-day championship which saw over 540 players competing for honors. The tournament was inaugurated by Ashok Nair (Financial Director, YBA Kanoo Group). A souvenir commemorating the event was released by Ashok Kumar by handing over a copy to Khalid Saleh, President of Noble Badminton Club during the closing ceremoney. The tournament was played in different levels from premier to flight 6 in mens doubles, championship to flight 6 in mixed doubles, flight 1 to flight 6 in ladies doubles and junior girls and junior boys. The prizes were distributed by Eldhose Mathai (CEO, Gambit Group), C.R Ravi (YBA Kanoo Group), Fahim Siddiquee (President of DBA), Khalid Saleh, Surendran Nair (Secretary, DBA), Tresnathan (DBA), Parthasarathi (DBA), Abid (DBA) and Mansour (EBC). Members of Eastern Badminton Club were part of the match officials. Vargis Cheriyan, Secretary Noble Club, extended the vote of thanks. Hari Krishnan (Vice-President Noble) presided over the function. A top level professionals, comprising former international stars, supervised the administrative and technical operation of this event.
