TCF will kick off the eighth straight edition of its day/night tennis ball annual cricket tournament here on Feb. 12. A total of 16 teams are taking part in the tournament, whose final will be played on March 11. The teams include players from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Matches will be played at BMT ground, Sitteen Street, opposite Al-Waha Hotel. The ground boats all facilities including a pavilion, team dugouts and spacious gallery for spectators. The championship trophy is named after the main sponsor Jotun powered by FSN (Faisal S. Al-Naimi Est.), while Al-Hokair Group, Bupa Arabia, Puliman Hotels & Resorts, Kool Dezign, Arcoma Equipment, Tires & Lubricants are the co-sponsors. The organizers have picked the 16 strongest teams from a pool of more than 30 teams which wanted to take part in the tournament. The participating teams are: Young Star, EFS KKR, AJVA Ford Royals, Dazzle Super Kings – DSK, My Own Challenges, Jotun Pengiuns, ASAS Scorpions, Al-Max, Tuskers, Pepsi Alliance, Hyderabad Royals, Arcoma Crown, Al-Jazeera Steel Cricket Club, Western Union X1 (JCC), Target Guys and Al-Hokair Group. The teams have been divided into four pools. Each team will play three matches in the league. The two best teams from each pool advance to the quarterfinals. The final will be played in March. Apart from the winner and runner-up trophies, various other prizes will be given to players for individual performances. There will also be fun games and instant cricket quiz during match breaks and the winners will get gifts. There will also be exciting prizes and bumper gifts for the spectators. A colorful opening ceremony with all the teams will be held at 8.00 p.m. on Feb. 12. All match results with photos and video's will be updating in the organizer's Facebook page. — SG
