The Winnipeg Jets gave Joel Armia the puck, and they gave him the pilot helmet. At that point, the rookie was living the dream. Armia scored for Winnipeg to get his first NHL point and the Winnipeg Jets beat the San Jose Sharks 4-1 Saturday night to end a six-game road losing streak. "It felt great," Armia said of the goal, originally credited to Matt Halischuk. "It was just awesome. It's a dream come true." Armia, a first-round pick by Buffalo in 2011, played in his seventh game since being recalled two weeks ago. He said the puck will go up on his wall at home. The helmet — routinely given post-game to deserving Jets players — won't be his to keep. Connor Hellebuyck made 27 saves and Drew Stafford scored a short-handed goal. Mathieu Perrault and Nikolaj Ehlers also had goals and Winnipeg won its third in four games. San Jose's Brent Burns scored his 16th goal, most among NHL defensemen. The Sharks are still looking for their first winning streak in San Jose this season and fell to a league-worst 5-11 at home. Martin Jones had 17 saves on 20 shots before being replaced by Alex Stalock for the third period. Stalock had six saves. Predators 2, Hurricanes 1 (OT): Mattias Ekholm scored with 1:51 remaining in overtime to give Nashville the victory against Carolina. The Predators won in an overtime session for the first time in 10 tries this season. They're 3-7 in games extending beyond regulation, the other two wins coming in shootouts. Victor Rask scored for the Hurricanes, who are 4-6 in post-regulation results. Devils 3, Stars 2 (OT): John Moore scored a power-play goal at 1:47 of overtime as New Jersey beat Dallas. Dallas entered the game with the most points (59) and the most goals (136) in the NHL. New Jersey received second period goals from Bobby Farnham and Kyle Palmieri. Patrick Sharp and Colton Scevious scored third-period goals for Dallas. Lightning 3, Wild 2 (SO): Goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy made 30 saves and stopped all three shots in the shootout to lift Tampa Bay. Ryan Callahan scored in the shootout for the Lightning. Zach Parise, Mikko Koivu and Charlie Coyle failed to score in the bonus format for Minnesota, which got 28 saves from Devan Dubnyk. Blue Jackets 5, Capitals 4 (SO): Brandon Dubinsky and Ryan Johansen scored shootout goals and rookie goaltender Anton Forbserg survived in a tough spot to lead Columbus. The Blue Jackets got two goals and an assist from Jack Johnson in regulation, and Brandon Saad also had two goals. Oilers 4, Coyotes 3 (SO): Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored the shootout winner and Edmonton brought their four-game losing streak to an end. Matt Hendricks also scored in the shootout for Edmonton and Mikkel Boedker had one for Arizona. Red Wings 4, Sabres 3: Left winger Tomas Tatar scored with 2:50 remaining to lead the Detroit Red Wings to a 4-3 win over the Buffalo Sabres. On the game-winner, Tatar cut inside the slot and ripped a hard wrist shot to the blocker side for his 12th goal of the year. Left winger Henrik Zetterberg, center Brad Richards and center Riley Sheahan also scored for the Red Wings (19-13-7). Goalie Petr Mrazek made 32 saves. Other results: Penguins 5, Islanders 2; Kings 2, Flyers 1; Panthers 3, Rangers 0; Maple Leafs 4, Blues 1; Flames 4, Avalanche 0. — Agencies
