Red-hot Weise scores 8th goal
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 07 - 11 - 2015

Dale Weise has never been so hot, all least in the NHL.
The Montreal winger scored his eighth goal of the season and the Canadiens got a 4-1 victory over the New York Islanders Thursday night.
Weise was only ever known as a scoring star when he had 48 points in 19 games in the Netherlands during the 2011-12 lockout — there, he earned the nickname "Dutch Gretzky."
Now the 27-year-old has taken over the team lead in goals, only two short of his career high of 10 set last season, with five in the last four games.
Weise and linemates David Desharnais and Tomas Fleischmann each have six points in the last four games.
Lightning 4, Sabres 1
A three-goal burst in the first period led the Tampa Bay Lightning to a 4-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres.
Steven Stamkos, Tyler Johnson, Nikita Kucherov and defenseman Victor Hedman scored for the Lightning. Goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy made 30 saves.
Jack Eichel scored for the Sabres, who replaced starting goalie Linus Ullmark after he surrendered three goals on 11 shots in the first period.
Chad Johnson stopped all 10 shots he faced.
Capitals 4, Bruins 1
Goaltender Braden Holtby finally allowed a goal to the Boston Bruins, but Washington were too strong as they recorded a 4-1 victory.
Holtby blanked the Bruins in three games last season, but a first-period goal by Jimmy Hayes ended the run. Holtby still finished with 28 saves.
Brooks Laich ended a 16-game streak without a goal, while John Carlson and Alex Ovechkin also scored before defenseman Karl Alzner added an empty-net goal with 1:48 remaining.
Boston goaltender Tuukka Rask made 27 saves.
Senators 3, Jets 2 (SO)
The Ottawa Senators rediscovered the feeling of winning on home ice Thursday night after shootout goals by Bobby Ryan, Kyle Turris and Mika Zibanejad gave them a 3-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets at Canadian Tire Centre.
Goalie Craig Anderson made the only save of the shootout, coming out of his net to stop Jets winger Andrew Ladd.
Predators 3, Wild 2
Cody Hodgson scored late in the third period to lift the Nashville Predators to a 3-2 win over Minnesota, handing the Wild their first home loss of the season.
Flames 2, Flyers 1 (OT)
Mikael Backlund scored 35 seconds into overtime to give the Calgary Flames a 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers.
Coyotes 4, Avalanche 2
Coyotes defenseman Nicklas Grossmann posted the first two-goal game of his 11-year career, and Martin Hanzal notched two assists in his return to the lineup as Arizona snapped a three-game home losing streak with a 4-2 win over Colorado.
Sharks 5, Panthers 2
Five different skaters scored goals and back-up goalie Alex Stalock won his first game of the year as the San Jose Sharks beat the Florida Panthers 5-2 at SAP Center. Stalock stopped 31 shots while getting his third start of the year.
Blue Jackets 3, Kings 2
Gregory Campbell's first goal of the season midway through the third period lifted the Columbus Blue Jackets to a 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Kings at Staples Center. — Agencies
