Team Spain emerged champion in the Jeddah Sports Club (JSC) coaching academy's in-house football tournament. In the keenly contested final, the winner convincingly beat Team England 4-2. The tournament was organized as part of training academy's first anniversary celebrations. JSC academy is the first organized coaching facility for expatriate Indian children in Jeddah. Around 50 trainees aged between 8-14 were grouped into four teams named as Argentina, Brazil, England and Spain. After the round robin league teams Spain and England progressed to the final with equal points. In the final, Team Spain captain Adil Ahmed scored once in each half. Nabeel Hyder and Muhamed Nabeel were the other scorers. Rashad Abdul Latheef and Sahil Zaheer found the target for Team England. Argentina's Khaleel Abdul Raman, who pumped in 12 goals in the tournament, won the top scorer award and Sahil Zaheer (England) was adjudged as the player of the tournament. Marwan Saleem (Spain) was selected as best goal keeper. Chief guest Khaled Salah Al-Tayyeb, General Manager, Mobil Lubes, APSCO, gave away the certificates and trophies. Noufal, Headmaster of International Indian School Jeddah 8-12 section, former Santosh Trophy payer Mir Gazanfar Ali Zaki, Malayalam News reporter P.M. Mayin Kutty distributed other prizes. Chief coach Kannur Abdul Rafeek welcomed the spectators and Riyas Kommoth extended thanks.
