Jeddah FC earned three points from an own goal from Falcon FC of Tuwwal, while the other two matches ended in draws in the SIFF-Rabea Tea Champions League Footbal, organized by Saudi Indian Football Forum, at the Hilal Sham Stadium near Khalid Bin Waleed Street here.
The league championship is mainly sponsored by Rabea Tea and supported by Al-Abeer Medical Group, Jeddah National Hospital, TSS Advertising, Fathima Food Stuff, Gamon Group, Kathir Rice, Al-Ryan Polyclinic and Sharafiya Trading.
In the first match of the day, Blue Star Seniors was held 1-1 by newcomer Soccer Freakz in Division C. Blue Star took the lead in the fourth minute as Jassir ran all the way through right and gave an accurate pass to Mohammed Nawas who beautifully volleyed past goalkeeper Nishad.
Blue Star could not maintain its dominance in the second half as Soccer Freakz repeatedly raided its goal and restored parity. Shahid Salim's powerful shot was brilliantly saved by its goalkeeper Adam Kabeer but unfortunately the ball slipped out of his hands and Shahid pounced on it to make it 1-1.
Jassir of Blue Star was named the Player of the Match.
In B Division, Falcon FC of Tuwwal attacked from the beginning and almost scored in the 6th minute. A goalline save by Jeddah FC's Shuhaib Umar saved the local side. To make matters worse for Falcon a wrong clearance by its Yassir ended in an own goal. Jeddah FC had a good chance to increase lead in the 23rd minute but Manaf Veeran's powerful header sailed over the cross bar. Jeddah FC's speedy Ameer, who made a number of attempts, was adjudged the Player of the Match.
In another B Division match, another new team Rehab FC of Yanbu and Al-Ajool School Yas Club drew goalless in a thriller. The teams matched well and the game was full of attacks and counter attacks without a goal.
Yanbu took the upper hand in the second half and its Mohammed Anees missed an open net chance while Yas keeper was out of position.
