JEDDAH — An Adil Ahmed double helped Jeddah Sports Club Soccer Academy (JSC) blank Al Hiba Greenshore Teens 2-0 in their SIFF-Western Union Football Championship's Under-17 division encounter here recently. The win over the defending champion put JSC in the U-17 final with one league match in hand. Following a barren first half, JSC dominated the second half and produced attacking football. Speedy striker Adil, who was adjudged Man-of-the-Match, put JSC in front 10 minutes into the second half on a pass from winger Fawas Ismail. Adil headed the second on an accurate corner kick from Nabeel to complete the tally. In another match in the same category, Naseem Jeddah Polyclinic Sporting United thrashed Link Pen Soccer Freakz 5-2. Man-of-the-Match Akhil Kareem scored a brace, while Shabin Rasheed, Nashid Chalil and Ashfaq Mohammed netted one goal each. Safwan Mohammed and Mohammed Azeez scored the two goals for Soccer Freakz. In the third match of the day played in the Second Division league, Al Ryan water Town Team Strikers rallied to hold Al Noor Medicals YCC 1-1. Sathar put Town Team in front, but Unni Mohammed leveled the score for YCC. Hakeem of YCC was adjudged the Man-of-the-Match. The last match of the day was played in the First Divison league. It saw star-studded Eastern Ernad rout ABC Cargo Yas Club 4-0. Faysal opened the account for Ernad three minutes before half time. He, however, missed a sitter minutes later. Veteran midfielder Abdul Hameed doubled the lead from the spot, while hard-working youngster Najish made it 3-0. Faysal completed the tally with his second. Abdul Rauf of Eastern Ernad claimed the Man-of-the-Match honors. The 17th league championship being organized by Saudi Indian Football Forum (SIFF) is mainly sponsored by Western Union Money Transfer.
