RIYADH — The police solved three homicide cases which took place during the past week. Riyadh Police spokesman Col. Fawaz Al-Mayman said the victim in the first case was a man in his 30s. "The incident happened in Al-Hazm District. The victim was shot three times in the head. After thorough investigations, the police identified the murderer as the victim's neighbor," said Al-Mayman. He said the surrounded was surrounded by police but he shot himself before the officers were able to arrest him. "He shot himself with the murder weapon. There were no other cases of injuries recorded and the suspect's death was treated as suicide," said Al-Mayman. The second homicide took place in Tuwaiq District. "The victim was a man in his 20s. He was shot by his 30-year-old brother following a family feud. The older brother lost control and shot his younger brother. He then escaped from the scene but the police managed to arrest him," said Al-Mayman. The third murder was reported in Al-Kharj. "The police received reports of a fight resulting from a road accident. The police arrested 11 individuals who were involved in the fight and also arrested a man who allegedly killed one of the people involved in the fight," said Al-Mayman. He said the victim was stabbed to death. "The murder suspect and the other arrested individuals were detained and the incident was reported to the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution," he said. Al-Mayman said police departments issue regular bulletins on incidents of crimes in areas under their jurisdiction."The general public should get information on crimes in the city from legitimate sources. There have always been rumors and lies circulated on social media. These rumors are often misleading and can defame the police," said Al-Mayman.
