Nebraska's first trip to Michigan Stadium since 1962 was simply miserable. Denard Robinson threw two touchdown passes and ran for two scores to help No. 20 Michigan rout the 17th-ranked Cornhuskers 45-17 Saturday. Nebraska (8-3, 4-3 Big Ten) lost any hope of playing in the conference's first title game in its debut season in the league. The Cornhuskers will close the regular season at home against Iowa. No. 1 LSU 52, Mississippi 3: Ron Brooks returned an interception for a touchdown 28 seconds into the game and top-ranked LSU piled up 353 yards rushing on the way to a rout of Mississippi. The Tigers (11-0, 7-0 Southeastern Conference) matched their best start since 1958. Quarterback Jordan Jefferson started his second consecutive game, completing 7 of 7 passes for 88 yards and a touchdown. Alfred Blue led the Tigers with 74 rushing yards while Spencer Ware added 70 yards and a touchdown. No. 3 Alabama 45, Georgia Southern 21: Georgia Southern ran wild against major college football's top defense, racking up more points against No. 3 Alabama than anybody else has this season. The Eagles' triple option attack confounded the Crimson Tide with 302 rushing yards, but they still fell at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The six-time FCS champions aren't into consolation prizes. No. 4 Oregon 38, No. 18 USC 35: Matt Barkley threw for 323 yards and four touchdowns and No. 18 USC held off No. 4 Oregon when Alejandro Maldonado missed a 37-yard field goal to tie the game with five seconds left. Trailing 24-7 in the third quarter, Oregon mounted a furious comeback and narrowed it to 38-35 with 7:05 left in the fourth quarter. Barkley led his team to the Oregon 15, but Marc Tyler fumbled and the ball was recovered by the Ducks with 2:54 to go. Oregon marched down the field but Maldondado's kick, which was brought five yards closer because of a USC penalty, went wide left. No. 6 Arkansas 44, Mississippi State 17: Mississippi State has had all of the Southeastern Conference West Division it can handle. The Bulldogs latest setback came at the hands of No. 6 Arkansas. In other games it was: North Carolina State 37, No. 7 Clemson 13; No. 10 Boise State 52, San Diego State 35; No. 11 Houston 37, SMU 7; No. 12 Michigan State 55, Indiana 3; No. 13 Georgia 19, Kentucky 10; No. 14 South Carolina 41, Citadel 20; No. 15 Wisconsin 28, Illinois 17; No. 19 TCU 34, Colorado State 10; No. 21 Penn State 20, Ohio State 14; Virginia 23, No. 23 Florida State 14; No. 24 Notre Dame 15, Boston College 14.
