The Jeddah Mayoralty has started its health and safety inspections of rest areas and gas stations on the roads leading to Makkah and Madina. This is to ensure that Haj pilgrims receive the best possible services, said Dr. Hani Abu Ras, Mayor of Jeddah. “These visits are being made at the behest of Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Emir of Makkah region. Prince Misha;l Bin Majed Bin Abdul Aziz, Jeddah Governor, is following up on these visits.” The directives to start the inspections were sent to the general department of municipal and rural complexes, the general department of licenses and commercial inspections and sub-municipalities in charge of these roads, Abu Ras pointed out. The inspections will ensure that rest areas and gas stations comply with all health and safety regulations and that all violations are reported to the authorities, he explained.
