The Riyadh Mayoralty has closed down 21 service facilities for various violations. The facilities at gas stations along 13 roads were frequented by pilgrims going to Makkah and Madina. Sulaiman Al-Bat'hi, Director General of Environmental Health, said the mayoralty's teams visited 123 facilities, registered violations in 84 of them and confiscated 772 kg of rotten foodstuff. The mayoralty's campaign aims at rectifying the situation at gas stations and upgrading them to the level reflecting the high standard of services in Riyadh Region, curbing violations of health conditions by all facilities for selling foodstuff and for public health as well as ensuring safety of the commodities at supply stores and cleanliness of mosques and toilets. The governorates' municipalities, General Administration for Environmental Health and General Administration for Comfort and Safety are participating in the campaign, which will continue till Dec. 5.
