The General Secretariat of the Council of Senior Scholars has welcomed the expansion project of the Grand Mosque. The council commended King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, for laying the foundation stone for the new expansion of the Grand Mosque and his opening of a number of developmental projects of the Two Holy Mosques and other holy sites. Sheikh Dr. Fahd Bin Saad Al-Majid, Secretary General of the council, said that the new expansion is the largest one in the history of the Holy Mosque of Makkah that will be added to the King's achievements. It will have a great effect in the service of millions of pilgrims and visitors, he said. Meanwhile, the Council of Ministers of Health of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states has also lauded the expansion project. Prof. Tawfiq Bin Ahmed Khoja, Director General of the Executive Bureau of the GCC Council of Ministers of Health, extended in his own name and the name of the council congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for the expansion of the Holy Mosque and other related important projects. Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al-Rashid, President of King Khalid University (KKU), said that the gigantic achievements in all fields brought about by King Abdullah will be eternally recorded in the history, citing in this regard the King's. He described the the Haram expansion project as a new landmark. Dr. Al-Rashid noted that the King's gigantic achievements show his deep-rooted love for the religion, homeland, nation and humanity, indicating that the King has achieved these accomplishments in a record time.
