The Consulate General of India here has asked overstaying Indian nationals to approach the deportation center (Tarheel) immediately so that an exit visa can be stamped on their travel documents and fingerprints taken. The consulate advisory said all Indian nationals who have overstayed their Umrah, Haj or visit visas should avail of the royal amnesty extended by the Kingdom which will be over by Sept. 14. The advisory warned that overstayers not abiding by the Kingdom's regulations and not leaving the Kingdom before the expiry of the amnesty period will face severe punitive action by the authorities. The Ministry of Interior extended the amnesty to Sept. 14 after many overstayers were unable to leave the country within the timeframe of the previous amnesty period (March 23) ordered by King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
