Ministry teams carry out 701 inspections in Umrah season

Inspection teams of Ministry of Commerce and Industry in Makkah, Madina, Jeddah and Taif made 701 field tours and checked 7,388 shops, a ministry's report said.
The report on the outcome of the ministry's Umrah plan implemented this year said the teams checked for violations like selling of expired products and those not meeting Saudi specifications.
The ministry inspectors destroyed over 1.5 million food products found unfit for human consumption in addition to confiscating over 260,000 products.
