Over the past three months the Ministry of Trade and Industry's inspectors have seized 838,715 fake and expired products. Inspections were conducted with the help of the Riyadh Police from October to December. The inspections included factories, warehouses, rest houses, rundown buildings and undeveloped districts. The team confiscated 14,100 packets of shampoo and cream found to be unfit for human consumption. It destroyed 11,525 tires, 5,500 boxes of expired foodstuff and 3,500 bottles of fake Chanel perfume. The inspectors also arrested three Bangladeshi nationals and two Yemenis who were running a factory in their rundown flat in Riyadh.
