MADINA: The Ministry of Trade and Industry in Madina has submitted 44 cases of commercial fraud to the Bureau of Investigation and Prosecution. Completed cases will be submitted to the Board of Grievances for punishment. Khaled Bin Ali Qumqumji, head of the branch, called on residents and visitors to report any violations through the toll-free number 800-124-1616 or to file a complaint. He said the branch had conducted inspections of 1,604 shops and seized 837,150 goods, including expired food and other goods unfit for human consumption. He added that the branch has increased inspections of electronics shops where there are often instances of fraud and counterfeiting of international brands. The branch's monitoring also includes gas stations and shops on highways to make sure they adhere to regulated prices.
