The Saudi Telecom Company (STC) has dedicated telephone number 5565 for donations in the national campaign for the famine-hit people of Somalia. The national campaign, ordered by King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, begins Monday. All the STC customers who wish to donate to the noble cause are required to send an empty message to 5565. The donation will be SR10. All donors should start using SMS at the launch of the campaign from Monday, the STC said in a statement. Meanwhile, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has called for intensification of humanitarian aid for the displaced people in camps outside the Somali capital of Mogadishu. OIC's office in Somalia has pointed out that most humanitarian organizations working in the country have focused their assistance on camps for the displaced people in Mogadishu, which has led to a marked improvement of humanitarian situations there in comparison to the past two weeks.
