King donates SR20m, Crown Prince Sultan SR10m, Prince Naif SR5mRIYADH — The Saudi aid campaign for the drought-stricken Somali people ordered by King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, kicked off Monday with the King making a donation of SR20 million; Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector-General SR10 million; and Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier and Interior Minister SR5 million. Citizens and residents have already started contributing to the fund which is being supervised by Prince Naif. Donations from all parts of the Kingdom are being covered by Saudi television and radio stations. This includes the General Program in Riyadh, Second Program from Jeddah, Holy Qur'an Radio and Islam Call Radio. People can also contribute cash to account number 77201104 000777 at the National Commercial Bank (NCB). The account number SA4310000020177777000104 can be used to transfer from other banks to the NCB account. Cash can also be deposited using the toll-free Al-Ahli telephone number 80002443333; on the website of the NCB online at www.alahlionline.com; or through the ATMs of Al-Ahli and other banks. The Saudi Telecom Company (STC) has assigned telephone number 5565 for donations. STC customers who wish to donate to the noble cause are required to send an empty message to 5565. The donation will be for SR10. The campaign will also receive sugar, flour, cooking oil, rice, dates, long-life milk and juices which are valid for one year in addition to tents, covers, and new and ready-made clothes. People can also send medical solutions, medical supplies, drugs, medical beds and ambulances. SABIC was the first major establishment to announce a donation of SR 5 million. Reports said people have been donating overwhelingly in response to the call given by King Abdullah.
