The drawing ceremony for the Asian clubs and national teams in progress in Riyadh Friday. – SPA RIYADH – Saudi Arabia was placed in Group A for the Asian Championship when the draws were held for the Asian Handball Clubs Championship and Asia Championship for national teams at the Olympic Complex. The Asia Championship will decide the qualifiers for the World Cup 2013 in Spain. Prince Nawwaf Bin Faisal Bin Fahd, President of Youth Welfare and Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee graced the ceremony. The events will be held in Dammam from Nov. 11 to 20, and in Jeddah from Jan. 26 to Feb. 4, 2012, respectively. The clubs' championships: Group A – Assadd (Lebanon, champion), Mudhar (Saudi Arabia), Folad Mubarak (Iran), Al-Ahli (Qatar), Al-Fuhaiheel (Kuwait) and Al-Ahli (UAE). Group B – Al-Khaleej (Saudi Arabia), Assadaqa (Lebanon), Dhobahan (Iran), Aljaish (Qatar), Alshabab (Kuwait), and Nift Aljanoub (Iraq). The national teams championship: Group A – South Korea, Japan, Iran, Jordan, and Kuwait. Group B – Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan.
