Noor of Saudi Arabia secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the 11th Asian Clubs Handball Championship after beating Al-Fehaheel of Kuwait 29-27 at the Indoor Hall of the General Presidency of Youth Welfare(GPYW) here Saturday. The narrow win put Al-Noor on top of Group D on four points, two points ahead of Al-Fehaheel. In Group A, Al-Qadissiyah of Kuwait and Qatar's Al-Sadd also qualified after they led the three-team group on four and two points respectively. Al-Qadissiayh qualification came after the team beat Al-Jish of Iraq 25-14 earlier at the same venue. Group C also saw another defeat for the second Iraqi representative as Al-Sadd of Lebanon beat Iraq's Al-Karkh 26-22. Iran's Foolaz recovered from its first match defeat at the hands Al-Ahli Qatar in Group B to beat Al-Sadaqa of Lebanon 36-17. On Sunday, Al-Nawaeir of Syria plays its first match in the competition when the team faces Qatar's Al-Ahli while Al-Salat of Jordan plays Parsi of Iran in Group D. Hosts Al-Ahli will be looking to secure its qualification to the quarterfinals when it takes on Iraq's Al-Karkh. Al-Ahli tops Group C with four points. Al-Sadd of Lebanon is second with two while Al-Karkh and AL-Najma of Bahrain are third and fourth respectively. __
