Jeddah skyline is hardly visible in this photo taken at noon Sunday. — Okaz photo Okaz/Saudi Gazette JEDDAH – The Jeddah sky was blanketed with dust particles Sunday as a result of active southern winds accompanying hot and humid air. Temperatures felt higher than cited in meteorological reports. Hasan Mira, Vice President for Analysis and Forecasts at the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment Protection (PME), expects low horizontal visibility of less than one kilometer to continue Monday because of dust particles and the sand carried by the southern winds. He expects no rainfall in Jeddah. The PME last Saturday issued a warning on its website that Makkah region, especially coastal areas of Jeddah, Al-Leeth and Al-Qunfudha and other areas on the coast as far as Jizan, will be affected by low horizontal visibility because of dust particles in the atmosphere. Sunday it issued warnings that in these areas there will be no or very low visibility, because of the dust. __
