A wave of dust storms is expected to hit Thursday in Riyadh, Makkah and Madina, the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment has warned. Dust storms that have hit some areas will continue and surface wind along the western coast would become active from Laith Governorate in the north to Jizan in the south and increase the amount of dust in the air, the PME said Wednesday in its daily weather forecast. The dust is expected to affect visibility, especially in the Kingdom's northern and eastern regions and parts of the central region including Riyadh and a number of governorates. Its effects are expected to also reach Najran and the eastern parts of Makkah and Madina. – Okaz-/SG The PME expects that the Kingdom's summer resorts will have good weather, but there is a possibility of thunderous and rainy clouds in Jizan and Asir heights, especially in the afternoon and evening. Security and health authorities in those areas have made arrangements to deal with any weather-related emergencies.
