The annual report of the National Society for Human Rights (NSHR) shows it received the most complaints about the Ministry of Education with 205 forms of correspondence, followed by municipalities with 146, some regional governorates with 101, the Ministry of Finance with 88 and lastly the electricity company with 78. The administrative grievances against many government administrations varied. Complaints regarding objections to decisions were the highest at 492, demand for compensation at 333 while “requests for reconsideration” came third at 167 complaints. The NSHR received 1,748 administrative complaints last year, the highest category of cases. Jizan was first in this regard with 629 complaints, followed by Riyadh with 608, then Jeddah with 184 complaints with the rest of the cases distributed in Eastern Province, Makkah, Al-Jouf and Madina. An official from the NSHR said the society was successful in finding solutions to 80 percent of the cases it received last year in cooperation with government bodies. He said the most prominent cases solved include issuing of identification documents, seeking the release of some prisoners, and other procedures. The seventh NSHR report of 2010 issued recently, showed that it was the year with the highest number of cases since its inception in 2004. It showed a 19 percent increase in the number of cases received by it compared to the previous year's total of 4,783 cases. __
