A report from the National Society for Human Rights (NSHR) says it received 310 complaints of domestic abuse, ranging from psychological, physical and sexual nature to being deprived of education and prevention from marrying. Saudis registered the highest number of complaints with 272, followed by Yemenis with 10, Palestinians with 5, and Syrians and Jordanians with four each. The province of Makkah recorded 145 complaints, followed by Riyadh with 75, the Eastern Province with 43, and then Najran, Hail, Tabuk, the Northern Border province, Al-Jouf, Naha, Asir and Al-Qassim. Women made 249 complaints, while 61 were brought by men. One hundred and three complaints were made against fathers, 32 against siblings, 23 against families and eight against mothers. The nature of other cases included requests for shelter after accusations of adultery, children being deprived from seeing their mothers, threats to property, and being prevented from working.
